My Personal Testimony
written by: Donna Jackson Davis
I am called, as all God's children are call
ed, to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. I need
the Lord's anointing and without Him, I am nothing. I'm trusting the Lord to continue opening doors, so I can reach as many souls as possible before His soon return. First, I would like to share a little about myself. On October 17th, 2010 (also my parents wedding anniversary) I was married to a wonderful Christian man, Daniel Davis. I know the Lord put us together and "Danny" enjoys helping me in the music ministry. He is an answer to my prayers. I'm the proud Mom of 3 beautiful children, Phillip, Brooke and David, ages 19, 17 and 13. They are a blessing and I've had the priveledge of being their Mom. I began singing at my Grandma's church in Savannah, GA at the age of 5 and I've been singing for the Lord ever since. What an honor to sing for Jesus, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords!
I'm thankful for Christian Parents and Grandparents. I was raised in a Christian home and I thank the Lord for saving my soul at the age of 7. Though I've fallen many times, the Lord is always there to pick me up and draw me back to Himself. The Lord has brought me through many storms of sickness, abuse, financial ruin and divorce. After the Lord called me into ministry, the enemy attacked my youngest son, David. He was diagnosed with Diabetes-Type 1 at the age of 10. I really thought about giving up the ministry at this time. I knew this was an attack of Satan but the Lord gave me faith that David would be healed in His timing. God instructed me to continue moving forward and I'm glad I did. David is doing great now and I'm standing on God's word that by the Lord's stripes, my son is healed. (Isaiah 53:5)
Then another attack came. A few months later, I began having problems talking and especially singing. In March 2008, I underwent surgery to have a large thyroid tumor removed that was pressing against my vocal chords. The test performed showed the tumor was malignant, but after the biopsy was performed, the tumor was benign. I know the Lord healed me. God is Great! After all this was over, my voice began giving me more trouble. I later discovered, not only did I have a thyroid tumor, I also had 2 polyps, a cyst and a busted blood vessel on my vocal chords. My doctor explained, I needed surgery right away due to the risk of the polyps turning cancerous. He also explained this surgery could potentially mean the “end of singing”. After the doctor discovered this, I was supposed to rest my vocal chords. However, I knew I had to move forward because God continued opening doors. I went through every door and trusted God to take care of my voice. I knew if God wanted me in ministry, there was NO WAY the enemy could stop me. On October 30, 2008, I asked my doctor take one more look at my vocal chords before scheduling my surgery. During my exam, the doctor looked shocked and said, “Donna, you don't need surgery, your vocal chords look perfect”. Once again, the Lord completely healed me. God is Awesome! When God allows, I enjoy sharing my testimony of physical and emotional healing. I know that "NO MATTER WHAT", the Lord is with me and All things are possible through Jesus Christ our Lord!
